We are hosting aonline masterclass that gives food lovers the chance to taste-along and learn more about Extra Virgin Olive Oil with our Product Specialist and Olive Oil sommelier, Robert Curbishley.

What is included with a ticket?

A Virtual Masterclass ticket will be suitable for a household of people. Attendees must be based in the UK as we need to ship your box of oils to you. The workshops will be hosted on Zoom, so you can do them from the comfort of your own home!

What you will learn:

The Extra Virgin Olive Oil Masterclass will explore how they are harvested and the process they go through to create the finished product as well as the different flavour you get from olive varietals and how to spot a quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Classes are interactive, so you will have plenty of opportunity to interact with our Product Specialist. Each ticket comes with a box of products for your taste-along that will be suitable for a household of up to six people.

It would be a useful comparison if you could have to hand any “branded” olive oil you may have in the house, or an olive oil that you know has been opened longer than three months.

Belazu first attended Abergavenny Food Festival in 2017 when we launched straight in with a pop-up restaurant. The customers and Belazu team loved it so much, we returned the following two years with more dinners, chef demos and new ingredients to share with everyone.

When will the classes be held?

The Masterclass will be held at 6:30pm on Friday 18th September

Please note that this is not a cook along, but a masterclass all about the ingredients and how they are made. We like the classes to be interactive, giving plenty of time for Q&As. Accordingly, classes may go over the approximate times shown.

The Belazu team adore all things food, cooking it, eating it, wandering amongst it. The prosaic truth is that we are normally so busy that we only do is a quick run around towards the end. However the atmosphere, guests and wonderful array of chefs have always left us coming back for more. Surely that says all there is to say about the festival!

Abergavenny embodies the same thing it did back in the late 90’s when it first started. Quality produce, accessible to all, a huge range of individuals, companies and talent that fill this beautiful, south wales town for a weekend.

Of course, this year we don’t get to visit, or stay in Crickhowel, or visit the angel bakery for coffee and bread, we won’t be able to rush anywhere at the last minute, due to a reason we are all very familiar with. We are there in spirit though and in solidarity and we will be on zoom, delivering this Masterclass on Extra Virgin Olive Oil. On behalf of us all at Belazu, we hope to see you in the masterclass and if not, roll on 2021.
