Nut Mixes Launch in Waitrose

From the luxurious flavour of Truffle and Pecorino, to the warming heat of Rose Harissa, and Smoked Chilli, our range of indulgent nut tins are the perfect snack to enjoy this Spring.

Supplying, sourcing and pairing the very best ingredients has always been at the core of what we do. We first started selling nut mixes to trade customers in 2017 after opening our separate nut room, and now you can find our nuts mixes in top hotels, restaurants and bars across the country. From this week they will also be stocked at your local Waitrose store!

Over the past year our Insight and Innovation Team carried out extensive research in to people’s growing appetite for sharing snacks and identified a gap in the market for more premium and indulgent nuts that are full of flavour, in particular smoky, spicy and truffle flavours. After testing countless combinations of nuts and refining the recipes we are thrilled to be launching our Rose Harissa Nut Mix, Truffle and Pecorino Nut Mix and Smoked Chilli Nut Mix into retail.

All of our nut mixes are handmade in house at Belazu HQ in our dedicated nut-making facility where the nuts are hand roasted in small batches for consistency and quality. We only use the highest grade nuts, ensuring that they are whole pieces, full of flavour and have exceptional texture. For our Rose Harissa nut mix cashews, almonds and peanuts are seasoned with our signature Rose Harissa spice blend for a complex flavour and spicy warmth. We have been making Rose Harissa for thirty years, and the nut mix has the instantly recognisable heat, complex flavour and gentle sweetness of our original spice paste.

Cashews, almonds, and giant crunchy corn, form the basis of the Smoked Chilli Nut Mix where cayenne pepper and smoked paprika are used in the seasoning, giving the mix an intense chilli kick and deep smoked flavour. The indulgent combination of white truffle flavour and Italian Pecorino cheese coat the cashews, almonds, macadamia and pecans in our luxury Truffle and Pecorino Nut Mix.

The trio of Nut Mixes available in Waitrose are packaged in reusable tins. The tins were designed in house and are adorned with beautiful hand drawn illustrations of the ingredients that go into each mix. The striking packaging makes them lovely gifts to share with friends or family on a walk in the park, or to enjoy as part of a picnic spread as we come into the warmer seasons.

Having had great success with supplying our nuts to trade, we have introduced our new retail range of nuts that give people a luxury experience with whole nuts and a restaurant quality flavour. The pullback seal keeps them fresher for longer and, once they are finished, the illustrated tins can be repurposed too.”
